Fun Golf Tournament Planning Ideas

Fun golf tournament planning can be accomplished as long as you try to keep in mind that you want it to be fun and that you can all agree on which not-too-serious golf tournament ideas to use. There are many different formats for teams of nearly all sizes and I will discuss some of them in this article. Some fun golf tournament format ideas include '123 best Ball', 'Air Presses', 'Aces And Deuces' and 'Honest John'. There are too many popular games to try to explain in such a brief article, but many can be found in golfing magazines and on-line.

When playing '1-2-3 best ball' you should have four person teams, and it is played by simply all golfers playing the entire game. When the first hole is done; the lowest score goes on the card, when the second hole is done the two lowest scores go on the card, and when the third hole is done the three lowest scores all go on the card. After three holes you start back at one.

When Playing 'Aces And Deuces' the basic idea is that the lowest score is the ace, and the highest score is the deuce, who ever is the ace wins a preset amount of money from the rest of the players. The deuce on the other hand owes each of the other players a preset amount (usually half the ace) also. This is a game where even the second and third place players still get some money back in their hands, and is usually played by four people. It is a good idea to consider when planning a fun golf tournament.

In 'Air Presses' the bets are of a predetermined amount and bets are placed by the golfer who has not swung yet as it gives both the turn to up the ante. If the second golfer bets while the first golfer's drive is in the air then he would shout' air Press' and the bet would be automatically agreed on. If the first golfer shouts air press while the second golfer's drive is in the air then the bet is automatically doubled. This game is also suited for fun golf tournament planning.

'Honest John' is also a very fun way to make things a little more interesting during a nice friendly game of golf. When playing 'Honest John' each player pays an equal amount in to a pot. Each player then writes down the score he thinks he will make on the round. At the end if the round the golfer with the closest score to what he wrote down is the winner.

These are only a few examples of some fun golf tournament format ideas. You should discuss a few ideas to your group and see what the general consensus is about each idea. Remember that a fun golf tournament is no fun with a driver sticking out of your head.

Bicycle Clothing - What Cycling Gear to Wear and When

Avid cyclists know there is a wide-range of cycling gear available to choose from. Determining what you will need means asking yourself some key questions.

- What gear is required by law?
- What gear will provide the most comfort for the bicycling I plan to do?
- What equipment is best for the summer/winter conditions?

Cycling store employees should be able to help you answer these questions as you look to purchase new or updated cycling clothing.

What gear is required by Law?
Nearly every government has a regulation or law requiring helmets for cyclist. Some states require them for all riders while others set an age requirement. A good, well-fit helmet could save your life. Whether mountain biking or street cycling, a helmet is a must have for anyone riding a bike.

Though not specifically required by law, many state cycling groups recommend wearing reflective clothing when biking as well. This is another safety benefit, ensuring you are able to be seen by cars and pedestrians.

What gear will provide the most comfort for the bicycling I plan to do?
Having a variety of clothing for cycling is recommended as what you need is based on how long your ride and wear. Cycling shorts are great for longer rides. They help to keep you cool while you are exerting yourself on the roadway. Quality cycling shorts are made of special material made specifically for comfort and moisture control. They usually have a padded seat for extra protection and comfort for extensive riding. Choosing a sleeveless cycling jersey to help keep you cool on long-rides is also recommended.

mountain bikers who ride through brush and trees should look for a long-sleeve cycling jersey to protect their arms from abrasions. Cycling shirts or jerseys worth their salt will be made of synthetic fabric that is comfortable, lightweight and moisture resistant. This will ensure that, whether long or short-sleeved, the jersey will help a rider maintain a good temperature.

What equipment is best for the summer/winter conditions?
Avid bicyclers hit the road during all kinds of weather, especially if the bike is their primary form of transportation. For cold days, a cycling jacket or a wool cycling jersey will keep you warm against the cooler air while still keeping you dry by sweeping the sweat away from your skin. Windproof jackets are also available for wind and rain protection. Coupled with cycling pants or knee warmers, which keep your knees and legs warm and flexible, these items will help you have a pleasant ride, even when the weather is less than ideal.

As the weather warms, your cycling apparel should mirror what you would wear on long rides. Good cycling or bib shorts and a sleeveless jersey will keep you comfortable and cool. You may want to carry a lightweight, compact cycling jacket with you in case your ride goes later in the evening than you anticipated or you start out your ride early in the morning. There are a number of jackets available that can be easily stowed when the temperature rises. Cycling jacket made of breathable material that incorporates ventilation, like mesh vents, in the fabric are ideal.

There are many choices in bicycle clothing and not all of them are necessary. Depending on what kind of bicycler you are, you may find that less is more. But, if you are seriously into cycling, then choosing a variety of bicycle clothing is in your advantage you will feel much more apt to get out there on your bike if you have all of the proper equipment, including comfortable clothing that helps to keep your body temperate and dry.

How to Maintain a Fixed Spine Angle in Your Golf Swing

Overall, a number of physical components are necessary for the execution of most any golf shot. The reason for this is connected to the requirement of drawing the club through a long range of motion on the correct swing plane. This leaves you with little room for error in either tempo or sequencing of every phase in the swing.

Now, in order to accomplish the requirements of the golf swing the amateur golfer must have certain levels of flexibility, balance, strength, and power. If the body is lacking in any or all of these physical components, execution of the golf swing may be difficult. So in order to provide you with the opportunity to hit your golf shots successfully we can implement golf fitness exercises into your training program to develop these parameters.

A quick review of the golf swing indicates a requirement of maintaining a fixed spine angle as well as additional postural positions. In order for your body to perform these requirements of the golf swing the muscles of your body require certain levels of strength.

Strength relative to the golf swing can be defined as the ability of your muscles to exert the required levels of force to perform the movements within the swing. If your body is lacking in the levels of strength required of the golf swing. The ability to maintain your spine angle and postural positions of the swing will be compromised.

As stated previously the process of developing muscular strength for the golf swing is relatively simple. It consists of utilizing golf specific strength training exercises to develop the required levels of strength to maintain a consistent spine angle in your golf swing.

one such strength exercises I often use with professional golfers for this goal is Bent Knee Marches. This is a simple exercise to perform and is very proficient at developing strength in the hips, abdominals, lower back, and hamstrings. All of which are important muscles in the maintenance of your spine angle.

Begin the exercise lying with your back flat on the floor, knees bent, and feet together. Point your toes upward by pressing the heels into the floor. Elevate your hips off the floor inline with your knees and shoulders.

Slowly lift the left heel off the floor maintaining a bend in the knee and hips elevated. Continue to lift the heel 3-4 inches off the floor, pause for one second, and return to the starting position of the exercise. Repeat the lift with the right heel. Alternate back and forth for 10-15 repetitions.

Keep in mind there are a number of components required in the execution of your golf swing. one of which is a fixed spine angle. And order to maintain a fixed spine angle certain levels of muscular strength are required of your body.
